Day 01
|
ROME – CASERTA – NAPLES - SCALEA
Breakfast at your hotel. Departure at 7.00 from ROME to CASERTA.
CASERTA: After leaving ROME and driving along the “Sun Route” motorway, we will cross the regions of Lazio and Campania. Once in Caserta, located at 22 km to Naples, there will be a panoramic tour of the Royal Palace, which dominates the city. The Palace, as big and luxury as than of Versailles, better know as “Reggia”, it’s one of the most visited historical place in Italy. We will then walk along the elegant gardens, the English garden, and we’ll admire an impressive waterfall: the Large cascade of Diana.
Transfer from CASERTA to NAPLES.
NAPLES: The excursion will go on visiting Naples where there will be a short panoramic tour of the city: the historical centre, Piazza del Plebiscito, the impressive Castel dell’Ovo, the Royal Palace and the Gallery of Umberto I. there will be stop to taste and enjoy the typical products of this area.
Free time for lunch (not included).
Then we will continue towards SALERNO and BATTIPAGLIA, to reach the wonderful “Cedar Coast” famous for its seashore and citrus grove called “Credo”.
SCALEA: Arrival at SCALEA, one of the most historical coast city.

Day 02
|
FLORENCE
FLORENCE: After breakfast, visit of this beautiful city where the Italian genius for art reached its pinnacle. City of Etruscan – Roman origins, it flourished in the Middle Ages as a free community.
Furtherly refined by Renaissance, Florence is know as the “Heart of Renaissance” for its monuments, churches and buildings. The best – known site and crowning architectural jewel of Florence is the domed cathedral of the city, Santa Maria del Fiore know as the Duomo that we will visit; the magnificent dome was built by Filippo Brunelleschi.
We will then proceed to the nearby Campanile Tower (partly designed by Giotto) and the Baptistery with the golden bronze doors (they were so beautiful that they were called the “Gates of Paradise” by Michelangelo himself).
In the heart of the city there is Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo della Signoria (also know as Palazzo Vecchio) gothic building and the Santa Croce Basilica.

Free afternoon, possibility to visit PISA (optional)
PISA: the power of this city as a mighty maritime nation began to grow on and reached its apex in the 11th century when it acquired traditional fame as one of the four main historical Marine Republics of Italy. Then we will admire the Square of Miracles which also houses the Duomo, the Leaning Tower and the Baptistery. Return to Florence.

Day 03
|
FLORENCE – BOLOGNA – PADOVA – VENICE
Breakfast, and in the morning departure from Florence by a deluxe coach to BOLOGNA.
BOLOGNA: The cityscape is further enriched by elegant and extensive arcades (or porticos), for which the city is famous. In total, there are some 38 kilometres of arcades in the city’s historical centre for its 40 km of high system of fortifications and defensive towers. From Independence Street we will proceed to Neptune Square and Major Square in the heart of the city. The central streets of Bologna, today are largely pedestrianized. Here we’ll be fascinated by the Neptune square, King Renzo Palace, the Podestà Palace and the basilica of San Petronio, one of the biggest in the world (during construction it was intended to be larger than St. Peter’s in Rome.

Departure from BOLGNA to PADOVA.
PADOVA: Visit at the beautiful Sant’Antonio Basilica in the heart of Padova.
Departure from PADOVA to our destination, VENICE.
VENICE: In the evening arrival in Venice, world – famous for its gondola (classic venetian boat) and for its elegant and refined art. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel. |

| Day 04 |
VENICE
VENICE: After Breakfast, transfer by motorised waterbuses (vaporetti) to St. Mark Square.
We’ll visit: St. Mark Square and the Doge’s Palace (external), symbol of the glory and the authority of Venice. This represents the residence of the Dukes, of the Government and the Court of Justice. It can be reached crossing the Bridge of Sight, where Casanova had been sentenced to 5 years imprisonment. At the endof the tour, the group will stop in one of the famous Murano glasses factory.

| Day 05 |
VENICE – REGION OF CHIANTI – MONTEPULCIANO/TUSCANY – ROME
Breakfast, and departure by motorcoach from Piazzale Roma to the famous REGION OF CHIANTI in Tuscany.
CHIANTI: Chianti is a vast geographic area from the hilly landscape placed between Siena and Florence. The fascination of this territory lies in the perfect equilibrium between the soft forms of slopes and the thousands nuances of color and crowded woods, populates by ancient castles, secular parishes as in Pievi. In this area there is the biggest production of wine. The most famous is the Chianti Classico, made with the white and black grapes.
Departure from CHIANTI to MONTEPULCIANO.
MONTEPULCIANO: Famous city situated in the north of Val d’Orcia, known for its wine, the Brunello (famous red worldwide wine), it is possible to buy it in the winehouse of the town. For wine and jazz lovers, in July there is the Jazz and wine festival. Tasting of local wine, free time at disposal.

ROME: In the evening arrival in ROME.

ROME
ROME: Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from the hotel at 8.00 a.m. to visit by foot this famous city and its artistic beauties among which: Piazza di Spagna, Fontana di Trevi, Pantheon, Piazza Navona and end in San Pietro Basilica.

ROME – NAPLES – POMPEI – SORRENTO
ROME: Breakfast at the hotel, departure from the hotel at 7.00 a.m. from ROME to NAPLES.
NAPLES: after leaving Rome, the coach will take the “Sun Route” motorway, driving through the regions of Lazio and Campania, with a view of the Abbey of Montecassino. Upon arrival in Naples there will be a short panoramic city tour: Margellina, Castel dell’Ovo, Plebiscito Square, the Royal Palace, the Maschio Angioino and the port.
Lunch in a restaurant on our way.
Departure from restaurant to POMPEI.
POMPEI: visit of the excavations of the famous Roman City, destroyed by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 A. D.
Leaving Pompei and drivng along the Sorrentine coast, arrival in SORRENTO.
SORRENTO: arrival at the hotel.

SORRENTO – CAPRI - SORRENTO
SORRENTO:Breakfast at the hotel.
departure from the hotel, we board the boat for the Island of CAPRI.
CAPRI: In Capri, weather and sea conditions permitting, we will visit the Blue Grotta in small rowing boats.

Free time for personal activities.
In the afternoon return to SORRENTO.

SORRENTO – PALERMO (Overnight on boat)
SORRENTO: Breakfast at the hotel, and morning at leisure.
In the afternoon departure towards NAPLES harbour to board on the Tirrenia Ferry Boat to PALERMO.

PALERMO
PALERMO: After breakfast, visit of MONREALE, ancient royal town. Return to Palermo. Here we will visit the Cathedral and other main interesting places of the city.

PALERMO – ERICE – MAZARA DEL VALLO – MARSALA - AGRIGENTO
PALERMO:Breakfast at the hotel.
departure from PALERMO to ERICE.
ERICE: situated on 700 mt above sea level and remained unchanged thanks to its retaining wall erected in the VI century b. c.
Transfer from ERICE to MAZARA DEL VALLO.
MAZARA:Fishing port of Italy overlooks the Strait of Sicily.
Transfer from MAZARA DEL VALLO to MARSALA.

MARSALA: Free time to visit this seaside resort known for its wines growth.
From MARSALA we will proceed to AGRIGENTO.
AGRIGENTO: The visit will continue with the Valley of the Temples (admission tickets included) with the Temple of Juno, the Temple of Concorde, the Temple of Hercules and Temple of Jupiter, one of the largest of all Doric style buildings (if the weather doesn’t permit, we will enjoy a visit of the Valley of Temples on the 8 day in the morning).

AGRIGENTO – MODICA – SIRACUSA – TAORMINA (NAXOS)
AGRIGENTO:Breakfast at the hotel.
departure from AGRIGENTO to MODICA.
MODICA: we will cross MODICA, where its faded tonality, its baroque buildings and its chocolate will astonish you. Then you will visit one of the most beautiful baroque church in the island: the Church of St. George.
Transfer from MODICA to SIRACUSA.
SIRACUSA:Will continue towards Siracusa, crossing the Island of Ortigia, rich in Baroque and medieval palaces and churches. Siracusa’s Duomo is one of the town’s most celebrated sights. In the hearts of Syracusans, the Fonte Aretusa occupies an important position. We can be fascinated also by the Greek Amphitheatre, the Dionisio Ear and the Roman Theatre (admission tickets included).

TAORMINA (NAXOS)
TAORMINA: Breakfast and excursion to the Mount Etna, an active volcano and it is the largest active volcano in Europe. It is one of the highest mountain in Italy, (weather permitting) we’ll climb the summit area up to 1800 meters.

Return in Taormina, crossing the town located on an impressive embankment of the Monte Tauro.
