Day 01
|
Welcome to Kemi
Begin your winter adventure at Kemi Airport where our local staff awaits to greet you and transfer you from the airport to your hotel in Kemi. As dusk settles, the guide prepares you for an exciting guided snowmobile trip into the wild to explore the extraordinary beauty of Lapland’s Northern Lights*. Later, after enjoying a delicious hot beverage and light snack around a campfire, you are returned to the hotel. *Please note that the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and sightings cannot be guaranteed. |

Day 02
|
Sampo Icebraker, Snowmobiles and Reindeers
Start the day with a traditional Finnish buffet breakfast before heading out for today’s experiences. Three unique winter adventures are on the schedule: A snowmobile safari, a sea voyage through the ice and the opportunity to earn your very own reindeer drivers license. The guide prepares you for an exciting guided snowmobile trip to the Icebreaker Sampo. On board the ship a busy program is on the agenda: an interesting presentation of icebreaking technique and ship history, a visit to the intriguing control room and the massive engine room as well as the bridge to see how the Captain commands the vessel.
After a nice lunch in the ship’s cosy restaurant it is time for the highlight of the cruise: you will be equipped with a survival suit which keeps you warm and afloat before you throw yourself in the water for an arctic swim in the 0-degree water! Before leaving the ship you receive an icebreaking diploma from the crew. The tour continues by snowmobile to a Lapp Camp where you are served a cup of coffee or hot lingonberry juice in a wooden hut around a cosy open fire. Then it’s time to learn to drive yet another vehicle: a reindeer-pulled sledge. If you manage to pass the short driving test you will be the proud owner of a reindeer driver license. Eventually you will go back to Kemi by snowmobiles after an adventurous day. |

Day 03
|
Santa Claus Village
Experience the magic of the Arctic Circle during a full day excursion to Rovaniemi, Lapland’s Capital. Start the day with a comfortable 1, 5 hour train ride through the pristine countryside of Lapland. From the Railway Station you will be transferred by car to Santa Claus Village where you can meet Santa Claus in his Office and shop for Lapland souvenirs. En route your driver brings you to the most important sights in Rovaniemi and you will have some wonderful photo opportunities during the transfer. Visit the studio and private home of Mr. Ari and Mrs. Irene Kangasniemi who are Lappish artists, working with reindeer antler as their raw material. Take the chance to make your own Lapland souvenir of reindeer antler with their guidance. Back to Kemi by train in the evening. |

|
Enjoy a nice breakfast at your hotel. Transportation will then be provided to Kemi Airport in time for your departure flight. |

Warm clothing is recommended for this tour, however extra warm/protective clothing is provided for the whole stay.
Some of the activities are dependent on weather conditions. In the unlikely event that an activity is cancelled due to weather, an alternative will be offered at no charge |
